Thank you for visiting my website. I’m a Boston area digital designer and front-end web developer. I’ve been a designer in various forms my entire career. The transition to digital design is more recent. I’m graduate of Boston University’s Center for Digital Imaging Arts (CDIA). After graduating I did some assistant teaching at CDIA and created a website for their audio department the Studio D Project.

The program at CDIA is a very intensive (40 hour weeks) course. The graphic arts and web design program covered every aspect of digital graphic design as well as most front-end web developer skills. If you’re interested in learning more about the web, photography, graphic arts, 3d graphics, and animation and/or audio recording, I highly recommend CDIA.

As I mentioned I did some assistant teaching for CDIA. Following my class was a larger group of 26 students. I assisted with the 13 weeks of web design and web developer classes including HTML, CSS, Flash, Javascript, jQuery, PHP, and WordPress. In addition to helping other students the additional 400 classroom hours helped solidify my skills.

I love working collaboratively to produce dynamic and highly functional results. Over the past 20 months, I’ve been part of the marketing team at ZINK Imaging.  At ZINK I was working on the hAppy smart-app printer and the ZINK Design and Print Studio app.

The internet is changing daily.  With today’s tools and content management systems such as WordPress and Drupal, even the most basic websites have become more responsive and interactive.  As a digital designer and front-end web developer, I try to keep up-to-date with current trends. HML5 and CSS3, for example, have replaced a lot of the more complex Javascript and Flash animation. Sites that I created even a year ago are out-of-date.

I use the term digital design to reflect a broad range of digital media from front-end web development to photoshop imagery. Contact me if you need help on any project;  Web presence, digital files, illustrations, photographs, patterns or even sound effects. I’m also available as a tutor for HTML, CSS, WordPress, Photoshop, and Illustrator. My email is John at johnmacarts dot com.

I look forward to hearing from you.
